A prominent training provider offering accredited vocational programmes to young South Africans sought to optimise its training initiatives and delivery model. Faced with the challenges of delivering learning across multiple locations, Gateway Technology was asked to help the provider migrate onto a digital platform that would align to the needs of the learner while still remaining compliant with regulations on accredited training. ​ Following an in-depth analysis of the training programmes, learner demographics and the environmental factors such as location and connectivity, Gateway Technology deployed a solution that enhanced the accessibility to content, improved efficiencies around delivery and ramped up engagement between student and infrastructure for better support. ​ The implementation of a state-of-the-art digital learning platform equipped with interactive modules, multimedia resources, and social learning features served as a central hub for learning delivery and learner engagement. The initiative yielded drammatic improvement in learner engagement, with learners reporting a higher satisfaction level with the learning experience. The transition to a digital learning delivery model also led to improvement in overall performance of learners with a higher completion rate than seen in classroom-based learning. The intervention deployed by Gateway Technology lead to an overall improvement in the key areas of learning delivery, namely learner engagement and academic performance.

By tracking and recording individual engagement across the entire staff complement of more than 2000 personnel, compliance could be driven forward based on actual information about engagement. Technology-enabled training ensured consistent dissemination of the new policy across all stores, guaranteeing that every employee received the same information and understood their responsibilities in protecting customer information.
